Reformed Perspectives Magazine , Volume 9, Number 45, November 4 to November 10, 2007 WHAT AM I? Number 3 By Bobby Gawthrop In the history of the world, I've visited every person but two, and if the Lord tarry, I'm coming for you. I've actually visited some people twice, in Bible times this was true, but in your case, no exception, just one time will do. Sometimes I knock, and stand, brazened and tall, sometimes I sneek, or creep when I call. What do I taste like? What do I feel like? Am I odorless? Sometimes I'm camaflouged, cloaked in strange colors. I'm not a topic for dinner, my name is taboo, nevertheless, if the Lord tarry, I'm coming for you. The date is set, it's in the book, can't run or hide, you're on the hook. I knew the Lord Jesus, my chamber He came, He wrapped on my door, He called me by name. Before "The Fall" of mankind, I didn't exist, sin is my mother, conceived in her midst. In the history of the world, I've visited every person but two, and if the Lord tarry, I'm coming for you. What am I?
