Everybody bemoans our nation's loss of hero, and there's something to that. I like to pray sometimes Lord, we remember a time when Giants walk in the land. Do it again, do it again, we do need models. But I also think that we do a great disservice to them and to ourselves if we aren't honest about the models God has given us. No role models should be an outsider of the human race, to wit, inhuman, without sin, without a need for forgiveness. If you have one of those puffed biographies, burn it. I have a friend who says that if you have a hero, make sure that he or she is dead. Then there won't be any surprises. Listen, when we read about the good stuff, without understanding that role models are human, it tends to despair. We already have enough of that. I'm Steve Brown of Key Light Network.
