One time when Alfred E. Smith was at a political convention with James Walker, they and some others went to a bar and got really drunk. Smith and Walker were both very strong Catholics in the next morning, with horrible hangovers they got up to go to mass. As they went out the door, they looked back at their friends, sleeping off the results of their night of debauchery, Smith turned to Walker and said quietly, I sure hope we're right. I think that the obedience with which you live would be wasted if there were no God. If you thought that it's probably a sin, that's a good question. And yes, everything you do for him will be noticed and acknowledged by him. So don't get weary and well-do it, it's really worth it. I'm Steve Brown, a key life network, you think about that.
